THE SCENE:
Despite the worst Snow Blizzard of 2010, despite the cancelled flights, blocked roads, car accidents, delayed trains, the recession, the super-bowl and Valentines Day; the celebrities, socialites, buyers, press, stylists, and your Fashionistas Esther Nash and Shelly appeared at fashion week with style and runway flash!
To my left and to my right most VIP attendees and members of the fashion elite donned hunting inspired hats/Russian inspired hats both faux and genuine fur coupled with flat thigh high and knee high boots. It was a very sexy cold fashion week. This season most dressed for comfort and style, bundled with animal magnetism which really steamed up the igloo like tents plus the flowing champagne, compliments of the Emm Group, placed all in a very friendly mood. Old friends and total strangers ran to kiss, hug and photograph Shelly and I.

The SHOWS (my favorites):

TONY COHEN: Wool pleated dresses with Jewels, embroidered detail; each garment looked like a work of art. Lambskin vests/wool buckle coats/silk jeweled trousers. This designer is a treasure chest waiting to be opened.

REBECCA TAYLOR: Faux fur coats, jackets, leopard puffer vests, jaguar ruffled cardigan sweaters, tweed high waisted pants, cashmere shirts, salt and pepper wool pant suits. This designer collection was for the bitter winters in NYC, London and Canada with funk and spirit. No need to show skin when you have spunk.
PORTS 1961: Big curly hair with cutesy leather bucket hats is a must this season. Sweater dresses and wool cape coats, tweed dresses and leather gloves, leather trousers and leather trim coats.

Dennis Basso: Designs were inspired by Venus De Milo sculpture; colors were forest, black, charcoal, and camel. The designs were breathtaking in fox, chinchilla, finnish raccoon, alligator trim, wool knits, lace, silk, charmeuse to name just a few of the luxury fabrics.

Venexiana by Katy Stern: This designer out does herself each season more elaborate and elegant. You may have seen her designs at red carpet award ceremonies. Known for her fur cropped jackets, stoles, capes and hooded fur coats paired with cocktail dresses, elegant gowns to give the feel of extreme wealth, indulgence and luxury.

Christian Siriano: Inspired by 1960 European women, soft romantic style that works for day or night and looks very fashion savvy. Chic attitude, pencil skirts with turtle necks, shoulder pads with cropped leather zipper jackets.
